Lee Petri Ted Long David Petri

Lee Petri,
President

Lee Petri has been integrally involved in defining the evolution of DSA - Software for most of its existence. For 12 years, Lee’s stewardship has covered numerous areas of responsibility, involving Sales, Marketing, Product Management, Implementation, and Customer Service. Lee has served as President since 1999. Much of the growth of the company, in terms of customer base and maturation of product offerings, has occurred under Lee’s leadership.

Lee actively participates in related industry organizations such as IWLA, and presently serves on the Board of the Council of Logistics Management (CLM) New England Round Table.

Throughout his time with DSA - Software, Lee has expanded and exercised his knowledge of Third-Party Logistics (3PL) operations working with Foxboro Terminals, a large, regional 3PL. To the benefit of both organizations, he continues to work closely with that 3PL.

Before coming to DSA – Software, Lee was the North American distributor for FuturMaster, a European Demand Forecasting and Distribution Requirements Planning company.


Michael Barad,
VP Sales and Business Development

Since joining DSA in January 2002, Mike has been responsible for generating new business through direct sales, indirect sales, and partnering relationships. He has developed strategies and partnerships aimed at increasing the effectiveness and reach of DSA - Software's products, and has increased awareness of DSA and its products through marketing and press visibility. Before joining DSA-Software, Mike held a series of positions for United Telecom, the forerunner of Sprint, Inc, beginning in direct outside sales and culminating with the management of a 45 person regional sales team covering the northeastern US. Following United Telecom, Mike founded and was Principal of Logical Resources, a software consulting firm specializing in complex, supply chain related software applications, later acquired by Anser Industrial Group. Mike then became VP of Sales and Marketing for Anser's e-business units: Toolshopper.com and Anserfac.com where, as a founding member, he had responsibility for all sales, marketing, and product rollout strategy.

Ted Long, Director Client Services

For the last 10 years Ted has been Director of Client Services at DSA – Software. Previous to that he was Office Manager for its parent company, DSA, for 16 years, responsible for 20 employees within the Customer Service and Dispatch departments. Previous to starting work at DSA / Foxboro in 1974 he worked at a trucking company in Plainville for several years, processing orders and performing other miscellaneous duties.


Boris Henkin, Director Systems Development

Boris joined DSA in 1998 as software developer, with the primary responsibilities of developing and customizing Foxware’s RF manager. Since 1999, Boris has held the position of Director Systems Development, and is in charge of the full cycle of software design and development, including moving Foxware to new technologies and enhancing functionality to make Foxware satisfy the dynamic requirements of the warehousing industry.

Prior to joining DSA-Software, Boris had 15 years of experience, including nine years in a leadership position, designing, developing, maintaining, and customizing software for business, financial, and scientific applications. Boris holds a B.S./M.S. in Computer Science.

David L. Petri

David L. Petri, Chairman of Distribution Services of America (DSA), has over 39 years of experience in all aspects of the warehouse, transportation and distribution industries. Throughout his career David has been viewed as an innovator and leader in the field of distribution. In his role as CEO at DSA, David is responsible for the operation of Foxboro Terminals, a 3PL warehousing operation, Foxboro Express, an LTL trucking company, DSA Boxcar, a national rail freight brokering company, and DSA - Software. His companies are credited with the following distinctions:

  • 1962 - Responsible for the first public warehouse in New England and third in the United States to consolidate LTL freight to local buyers. Even today, this company has the only consolidation program of its kind in the New England market as an integral part of continuous replenishment.
  • 1980 – An original founder of Transportation Brokers Council of America and the owner of the first ICC broker allowed to consolidate under the “old rules”.
  • 1984 - Responsible for the first nationwide boxcar program that offered single rate and single management of an all-inclusive rail to third party D/C to retailer from 30 ship points to 18 cities and finally to over 200 delivery points.
  • 1991 – DSA, through its TQM teams invented the Buyer Enhanced Shipping Technique (BEST) program; since adopted throughout the grocery industry and incorporated within the ECR initiative contributing significantly to the writing of the ECR Consolidation Manual.
  • 1993 – Original member of the Freight Forwarders Council of America.
  • Past President of several Warehousing groups including AWI, DCW, and Mass Warehouse Assoc., Inc.
  • Involved in many New England-based Grocery associations.
